Welcome to the October edition of your Club Newsletter. Autumn is proceeding rather fast I feel, and virtually all the leagues are up and running. The Saturday league start on Saturday October 6th.

NOTE: The popular Rinks afternoons will restart on Wednesday October 3rd from 4-6pm. Casual dress and will cost £2.

Coaching: The new coaching sessions will restart on Monday evenings at 7.15pm. First session is on Monday October 8th and will cost £4.50per person. Please encourage potential members to come along.

ALL SUBSCRIPTIONS MUST BE PAID BY OCTOBER 16TH OR PENALTIES WILL APPLY.

Coffee Morning: This year the Coffee Morning will be on Wednesday October 24th from 10am until 1pm. – all monies in aid of Macmillan Cancer support. Please support this good cause.

Reminder: when an end is ‘killed’ respotting applies!

Another reminder! Yet again for men to wear the correct trousers – NO JEANS of any colour.

Inter – Stadium: This month sees the start of the inter- stadium matches for both men & ladies.  Belfast 1 team play Belfast 2 on Saturday 6th at 10am, then County Antrim on Sunday 7th at 10am and Ballybrakes on Sunday 7th at 3pm.

The weekend of the 20th & 21st October sees Belfast 2 team play at Ballybrakes in the afternoon of the 20th and Belfast 1 team are at Ballybrakes in the afternoon of Sunday 21st.

The Ladies Inter-stadium team are at home to Ballybrakes on Sunday 21st October at 10am.  All support will be welcome.

Parking: Please note the Disabled Parking spaces out in front of the Clubhouse are for Disabled members only!! Strangely enough.

Alzheimer’s Society: Members of the Alzheimer’s society will be here on Wednesday 10th October from 10.30am – 1.30pm.  They are looking for volunteers from our club for their Side by Side service which supports people in the early stages of dementia.  For more information, come along and chat to the representatives.

Recycling: As a club, we are trying to do our bit to help the environment and have recently started to recycle all plastic and cardboard.  You may notice a few new bins around the club – these are specifically for cardboard and plastic.  Please do not use them for general rubbish or food waste.

Leagues & Competitions: Please keep an eye on the noticeboards in case there are any changes to any of the Leagues.  Also, the draws have been made for the men’s and ladies Irish qualifying competitions.  If you have entered, check the noticeboards to see when you are scheduled to play.

Short Mat: Saturday 13th October sees us host the IIBA Champion of Champions short mat event.

Cancelled Matches: In the first 2 weeks of the season, we have had 19 matches cancelled.  May I remind you that any match not played will cost the club £36 (£18 for a pairs game).  You now have 2 months to get the match played so please make every effort to play them.
