Welcome to the new edition of your Club’s Newsletter.

I trust by now you are getting well settled in to the new indoor season. I am encouraged by the number of new members; hopefully this number will increase as a result of the Beginners’ Coaching course which begins on Monday October 10th.

A new venture this year is that I will have a full time trained Physiotherapist on hand on Monday October 3rd – to deal with questions of a physical nature. If you feel you have any such problem come along that night at 7pm and hopefully Jason will be able to sort you out or at least give you good advice.

REMINDER: EVERY CANCELLED GAME COSTS THE CLUB £32. Please try to postpone games rather than cancel them.

Reminder: October 12th is the cutoff date for Subscriptions. After that a surcharge of £5 will be added on.

Reminder from Office Staff: inform them if you make any changes to your rink.

PARKING: places at the front of the building are for Committee members or Disabled members. Please respect this. Also : please park BETWEEN the lines and not on them.

Minor infringements: (!!) I personally picked a piece of chewing gum off the surface of Rink 2 . PLEASE deposit gum in the bins.

Also: PLEASE turn mobiles either to silent or OFF during a game. It is a club rule.

Also: reminder for men – GREY or BLACK trousers are the club rule – NOT jeans. Club shirts or white are compulsory for mens, ladies and senior games in league matches.

Please note: Billy McConkey is running a new course for potential Umpires. See the notice in the foyer or else speak to Billy.

The first Hotshot of the season has been claimed by J Gregg, V Peden, A ackson and T Gill. Congratulations to them.

I am still waiting for responses to the suggestion to have promotion and relegation in the 11.30 leagues – for next year. Let us know!

NEW LEAGUE:  mixed pairs have always been popular and we are now launching a new mixed league on Friday evenings at 7.15pm. We are looking for a minimum of 12 eager pairs!

DANGER : TURNING RIGHT OUT OF THE GATES HAS ALWAYS BEEN DANGEROUS. WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU TURN LEFT AND THEN TURN AT THE LIGHTS OR THE GARAGE IF YOU WANT TO HEAD IN THE DIRECTION OF BELFAST.

Short mat dates for October: Saturday October 1st—masters pairs, Saturday 15th – Champion of Champions.

NB: Restaurant : with effect from October 3rd the new opening times are as follows:

Mondays : restaurant will close at 2.30pm (last orders 1.45pm).

Tuesdays to Fridays : Restaurant will close between 2.30 pm and 5.00 pm (last orders 2pm.) In the evenings the restaurant will open from 5pm until 7pm (last orders at 6.30pm.)

Saturdays: restaurant will close at 5pm (last orders at 4.30pm).

Sundays : closed, unless there are competitions or ladies practice taking place.

Afternoon teas will stop.

Alberta will still cater for large groups (minimum 24) outside of the new regular opening hours.)

Matches with Jersey: sadly our juniors lost to a strong Jersey team, but it was a worthwhile venture. Thanks to John McCullough , Team Manager, for organising the event. Thanks also to Jim Magee who presented gold and silver cups as well as medals to all participants.
