DEATH OF WILLIAM BURROWS

PRESIDENT AND HONORARY MEMBER OF BELFAST IBC

It is with much sadness that I inform you of the death of our President and honorary member William “Billy” Burrows on 22nd December 2006.

Billy was a colossus in bowls, both indoor and out and held a number of Presidencies and other positions during his 50 years involvement with the game.  He was a long-time member of Belfast IBC, a very industrious and hard working honorary secretary for 20 years from 1978 to 1998 and President and honorary member from 1998 until his death.  A service was held at Roselawn Crematorium on 29thDecember.

Billy will be greatly missed by his many friends at the stadium and his death leaves a large void that will be very hard to fill.  We will always cherish his memory.
